How checking in on our kids could save their lives!

As a mom, we get so busy with the daily tasks that can consume and overwhelm us as moms.  However, are we neglecting our children in our busyness?

I sat down with my college and high school babies to really understand how we, as moms, can show them more love. As we know, our kids receive pressure from every angle of their lives and throughout their journey towards adulthood.

I also believe that social media has placed additional pressure on our children.  The pressure to be liked based on outer appearances or the things you have, rather than the kindness and compassion for others.

While my college daughter asked for validation because of college's stressful transition, my high schooler reminded me of the patience that they need within this time. As a teenager, you are trying to figure out what you want to be and asked for empathy as they go through all the emotions of being a teenager.

As a mom, we can help them stay emotionally strong and provide the empathy they need.  Let's make sure we are checking in on our kids more, even if they get tired of us asking if they are okay.  Dig a little deeper than the surface questions and make sure you build a bond that will hopefully last a lifetime.

Until next time Mom Tribe, stay well.
