Lately, we have been bombarded by mass shootings and acts of violence. There is so much pain that is associated with the families of those that have lost loved ones. However, as a mom, I often think of both moms' pain throughout this time: the moms who have experienced lost sons and daughters and the mom who has taken others' lives.
When my daughter did not do well her first semester in college, and the decisions she was making were not well thought out and honestly just poor, I reflected on my parenting and often thought of different ways I went wrong.
As moms, we often bombard ourselves with these thoughts, only to settle in on knowing we have done the best we can to raise our children. We beat ourselves up with the "what if" and "did I do enough?" questions. But honestly, our children have their own will and desires and other influences that shape them.

I could only imagine the hurt, shame, and disappointment that a mom may feel if their child committed these heinous crimes. And, of course, our heart goes out to the families and the moms dealing with loss during this time.
So because we still have our babies with us at this time, let's hug them a little tighter. Love them a little harder, question their choices a little more, and get them professional help when we see them going down the wrong path.
Until next time Mom Tribe, stay well!
