Motivational Monday - How parents stifle their kids success!

Loving someone means permitting them to disagree with you, think for themselves, and chart their own course in life. -UNKNOWN.

As a mom it's hard to allow our kids to be themselves, especially when we do not agree with the choices that they are making.  However it is definitely a part of the journey.

Kids really develop their personalities quite early, and as parents it is up to us to embrace them and provide an environment that cultivates them.  However much too often, the environment stiffles who they are and silences them.

I remember the sayings that kids should be seen and not heard, this type of environment caused stifled personalities.  Of course, there are always times in which we need to correct our children and their freedom to be themselves should still be done in a respectful manner.

So the next time that kid is talking non-stop for several hours, and your your usually response is to tell them to be quiet, remememeber you could be stifling the next lawyer or motivational speaker.
