Instead of faking perfections, start taking directions & making corrections! -Rigel J. Dawson
We have all done it, well, at least I know have! A few years ago, I decided to take a 3-month break from all Social Media platforms. That break turned into a year and a half, and then I deleted my accounts.
It felt as though I only posted the good things, the awards my children have won, my new house, great job, GQ-looking husband. However, what about the arguments between my husband and me, or the multiple times my kids refused to do their chores coupled with the number of times I had to yell to get it done.
And I felt like people were all doing the same, even our celebrities. One week they are happy with their spouse enjoying a vacation on a secluded island, and the next week they filed for divorce. I, too, fell into the trap of likes which equated to attention, which I allowed to dictate my worth.
But then I realized I was faking perfection to appease people who never reached out to say hello when I left social media. So instead of "faking it until you make it," make corrections in your life not so that you can be perfect, but that you can be a better you!
