Need Courage?

As a kid, I recall not being allowed to speak freely.  I was definitely raised in a household that I should be seen and not heard much, and my opinion rarely mattered.  It was not until I got older that I found my voice and made sure that I was being heard, in a respectful way, of course.

However, as a parent, I have instilled the courage in my kids not to be afraid of us as parents and ask for what they need.  How can we expect our kids to be vocal in life if we haven't given them the freedom to be vocal in a place that is supposed to be safe?

So let's allow them to exercise that freedom and allow them to have the courageous life they need.  But first, we need to make sure we have the courage to ask for the life we want.
