Motivational Monday - Just be Quiet!

Never speak from a place of hate, jealousy, anger, or insecurity. Evaluate your words before they leave your lips. Sometimes it's best to be quiet. -UNKNOWN

Although there is a saying that states that words do not hurt, they do.  How many times have you said something, and you wish you could take it back? Or has someone said something to you that they have to apologize for, but you are still dealing with the hurt of their words?

So many people are slow to think before they speak and often say the first things that come out of their mouths, hurtful and all. We make excuses for the things we say, calling them freedom of speech or just speaking your mind.  But we should think if the words we say, if they are going to make the situation better or worse.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying not to speak your truth, but when we do it from hurt or when its rooted in a negative emotion, those words will never come out with good intentions.

So the next time you have something to say, write your thoughts down and vocalize them when you are calm.  At that time, you may even realize that you no longer feel the same way you did when you were upset.
